This Privacy Policy explains how Opulent Code LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit grimmloch.com (the “Website”). This policy applies only to the Website and does not cover any game client, in-game services, or third-party platforms.
When you sign up through the Early Access form on the Website, we collect your email address. We do not collect your name, payment information, government identification, survey responses, or other sensitive personal data through the Website.
When you submit the Early Access signup form, we automatically collect technical information from your browser to help us understand our audience: your browser’s preferred language setting, browser type, operating system, timezone, and the URL that referred you to the Website. We also capture any marketing campaign tracking parameters (UTM source, medium, campaign, content, and term) present in the URL you visited, so we can understand which marketing channels brought you to us. All of this information is associated with your email submission and stored in our email service provider’s records.
Our hosting provider (Linode) maintains standard server access logs that include your IP address, the pages you visit, and timestamps. We do not currently run any third-party analytics tool such as Google Analytics on the Website.
The Website does not set cookies. We use temporary browser session storage (which is cleared when you close your browser tab) to retain marketing campaign tracking parameters from your URL across the time of your visit, so that those parameters can be included with any signup you complete. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or persistent local storage.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes: to operate and improve the Website, to send you development updates and Kickstarter campaign notifications if you have opted in to receive them, to understand which marketing channels and devices our community is using so we can improve our outreach, to analyze Website traffic and usage patterns from server logs, to respond to your questions or requests, and to protect the security of the Website.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Website (such as hosting providers and email delivery services), but only to the extent necessary for them to perform those services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
The Website contains links to third-party services such as Steam, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, and Patreon. These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their data practices. We encourage you to review their policies before providing them with any personal information.
We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. If you request that we delete your information, we will do so within a reasonable timeframe.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
